fashion school yuppies

sorry, but I really want to vent about some of these little bitches running around my school. when school started I could tell right away who were the people actually interested in learning about fashion, and who were the girls that thought just because they could afford designer duds that meant that they should go into the fashion industry. I am amazed and can't stop staring at this one girl who comes to class all decked out in hair and makeup. her makeup makes her look like a clown and every class she mentions her house in Malibu and whats going on at Barneys and Bendels. Another girl today who is a complete idiot was going on about her new Burberry trenchcoat and how she really needed to go to Bendels to shop. I am so glad I don't act like a spoiled rugrat anymore because these girls are fucking ANNOYING. Even some of the teachers are just as ignorant.

Now i am starting to wonder if the fashion industry is really for me. i couldn't care less about whats in fashion. I have no idea who half the designers are that we talk about in class. I would much rather talk about current events than the current sales on 5th ave. Almost every girl in my school carries around a Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Bottega Venneta, or some other designer bag. I am pretty much the only person that comes in with no makeup, my hair on my top of my head, and my favorite sweat outfit.

I am so glad i am not like these girls and realize there is a world beyond the clothes you have on. i just have to keep reminding myself why I came to Parsons and that I really believe in my clothing line. Going to the sports bars and watching MNF and college ball with passionate fans reminds me why I'm doing University Girls.

YANKS DO IT

I really need to update my blog with Halloween shenanigans and other NYC stuff, but I think its really important that I mention that the New York Yankees won their 27th World Series last night!!!!

My roommate and I went to this bar right on our corner, Croxley Ales, and made some friends with some other Yankees. I have always liked the Yankees (if I had to pick a team), but really haven't ever followed baseball until I moved here. Its really hard to get into baseball cause there are a bajillion games, and I only correlate lots of beer drinking with baseball games. But since the Yanks have been in the Playoffs, I've kinda been obsessed! For those of you that know me, I love sports and am actually really excited to be a Yankees fan!! Matsui is my favorite. I have been watching him throughout the playoffs and he is a stud. I was a lil surprised he won MVP and I had no idea this was A-Rod's first WS win!

I want to put this out there and some people might get mad, but I only have 3 followers so I'm confident no one will read this.

I think that I am a sports good luck charm...let me just explain. Not to be conceited or anything, but this can't be coincidence. When I was at WVU, we had our BEST years in football and basketball EVER. When I left, things started to not be as great. I moved to Pittsburgh after graduation, and the year I was there, the Steelers won their 6th Super Bowl and the Penguins won the Stanley Cup. Now I have moved on again to New York City, and the Steelers haven't been having the best year. But, the Yankees just won the World Series!!

I mean, maybe I've just been living in places where sports programs are doing well, but I think it's really me. :o)
